Top award for rapeseed oil growing firm

Farmers from Caythorpe have been named Grower of the Year at the Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality awards.

The annual awards recognise the people and businesses behind Lincolnshire’s billion pound food and farming industry. Andrew and Ronnie Ownsworth, from Ownsworth’s Rapeseed Oil, collected the award at the ceremony held at Riseholme College Showground Campus, Lincoln.

The home-grown rapeseed oil is cold pressed on the farm. Mr Ownsworth said: “Team Ownsworth have worked really hard throughout the year and we were delighted to receive this top award as a recognition of the quality of our product and our services.

“This re-enforces to all our stockists and customers, our continued commitment to quality and full traceability of our rapeseed oil.”

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development, said: “My congratulations go to the winners, and Select Lincolnshire will continue to do all it can to spread the word about all the county has to offer.”


Gillian Richardson, Business Development Manager for Select Lincolnshire thanked all the businesses for their contribution to Lincolnshire’s renowned food, drink and hospitality industry.
